Second day of hurricane season will be hot with little rain

Highs predicted in the low 90s

ORLANDO, Fla. – The first weekend of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season hit a high of 91 degrees.

Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, although the first named storm of the season -- Alberto -- formed last month. Nothing is currently brewing in the tropics, but the next named storm will be Beryl. For a full list of the 2018 storm names, go to ClickOrlando.com/hurricane.

The official high for Saturday was 91 degrees, announcing the unofficial arrival of summer-like heat and humidity.

More of the same is expected for Sunday. However, Monday has a higher chance of rain.

It will be clear to partly cloudy overnight with lows ranging from 72 degrees in Orlando and Palm Bay, to 73 degrees in Ocala. There is a 20-30 percent chance of rain Saturday night.

On Sunday, scattered showers will give a 30 percent chance of encountering some rain. Temperatures are expected to reach 91 degrees inland and about 90 degrees near the beaches.

Monday will see a 40 percent chance of rain with more of the 90-plus temperatures.

"The week ahead promises a summer-like pattern," Treanor said. "Remember your sunscreen."
