Police seek man accused of performing lewd acts near UCF since 2015

Most recent incident happened Sunday in Seminole County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man accused of committing lewd acts on campus since 2015 is being sought by the University of Central Florida Police Department and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release.

Deputies said the most recent incident happened at 3:45 a.m. Sunday while the victim was in a parking garage for Station of Alafaya, a student apartment complex in unincorporated Oviedo. The victim said she was opening her car door and saw a light blue Hyundai sedan parked close by. She then noticed a man walking toward her while committing a lewd act, according to authorities.

The victim got back in her car and locked the doors, at which time the man got onto the hood of her vehicle, got back down, then went to her driver's side door, where he completed the lewd act and then ran away, a news release said.

Deputies said the man is white, 5 feet, 5 inches tall with facial hair and wearing glasses. He is in his mid-20s. The man was wearing a beanie cap, a green coat and jeans at the time of the exposure incident.

UCF police said the man matches the description of the suspect they're looking for in connection with multiple similar lewd acts on or near parking garages on campus in July 2018 and March 2015.

In the July incident, which was the most recent to happen at UCF, the victims said the man followed them to campus from a nearby McDonald's and committed a sex act on the outside of their vehicle while they were inside it, a report said.

Police said DNA evidence from that incident was a match for DNA collected from a similar incident in 2015 during which a man exposed himself in Garage D on campus. A report from that case states that the victim was retrieving something from the trunk of her friend's vehicle then turned around to find a man behind her, committing a lewd act.

The victim grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt to push him away then watched as he drove off in a blue or gray minivan, possibly a Honda, according to authorities.

The DNA collected from those incidents did not match any samples in the criminal database system, so authorities were unable to identify to whom it belonged.

Anyone who recognizes the man or his vehicle is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
