Orlando police help shop for Boys & Girls Club members
ORLANDO, Fla. โ Orlando Police Officers rolled into Academy Sports + Outdoors Friday on a mission to shop, not for themselves, but for 10 kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. These children would not have anything to open on Christmas if it wasnโt for the community and this event,โ said Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida V.P. While the officers were inside, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer was outside dressed as Santa for the morning, raising money for the Boys & Girls Club on the radio. Orlando police officers and Shades, with the Orlando Solar Bears, went on a shopping trip for 10 children this Christmas. Academy Sports also donated some equipment to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida and presented them with $1,000, a gifts they hope will help support local kids through after school programming and mentorship.

ORLANDO, Fla. โ Dozens of Orlando area children are receiving free bicycles this Christmas thanks to a partnership between Orlando Police and Academy Sports + Outdoors. We are so happy and Iโm beyond words,โ Lopes said. Lopes was one of dozens of families receiving the free bikes Saturday morning at Orlando Police headquarters. School resource officers selected 50 first and second graders to receive the free bikes.
