Simon, a former Florida State University footballer and Philadelphia Eagles player, described the stigma and struggles professional athletes face even when they appear to be on top of the world.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles and Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins made the announcement Wednesday afternoon from the Amway Center. The site will be open to Orange County residents from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 through Nov. 1. Anyone who comes to the site will find coronavirus safety measures in place, a drive-thru ballot drop off location on Church Street and maybe even Orlando Magic players like Mo Bamba greeting voters at the entrance. The Orlando Magic and head coach Steve Clifford met with Orange County Sheriff John Mina to discuss policing in the community, according to the team.

Members of the Orlando Magic made their way Tuesday to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World ahead of the NBA's planned restart season. During a recent Orange County Task Force meeting, Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins laid out his playbook for how it would all work. If the plan works, all teams will be at Disney for at least 5-1/2 weeks and some teams will be there for more than three months. A recent news release from the NBA shows around 25 of its 351 players have tested positive since testing began on June 23. Scrimmage games are set to begin on July 22 with the regular season resuming on July 30.
