DPAC brings the magic of Disney Broadway to Frontyard Festival
ORLANDO, Fla. โ The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is bringing Disney Broadway to its popular Frontyard Festival later this month. AdAll four performers have been to Central Florida before while performing at Walt Disney Worldโs Epcot International Festival of the Arts. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts began hosting the socially distanced Front Yard Festival in December 2020 to support the entertainment industry in Central Florida. The event features 380 metal pods spread out in the front yard of the Dr. Phillips Center. AdCurrently, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has several shows planned for the festival through May.
Orlando Ballet returns to live performances with โSleeping Beauty,' the first since COVID-19
ORLANDO, Fla. โ The Orlando Ballet is getting ready to kick off their season with โThe Sleeping Beautyโ-- only this time, some adjustments have had to be made due to the pandemic. Collins said special effects have been added and the choreography will be different to keep dancers and production staff safe. So, they [guests] will see less people on the stage but no less frame up for the story,โ Collins said. The Orlando Ballet said it also made sure everyone involved with the production was cleared from coronavirus. โWhen guests first arrive, they will get their temperature checked outside,โ Lorri Shaban, spokeswoman for Dr. Phillips Center, said.
Dr. Phillips Center ready to light up the stage with socially-distant yard festival
To support the entertainment industry, the Dr. P. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will be hosting a socially distanced six-month festival called the Front Yard Festival beginning in December. We havenโt had a show in here since March 11 when Josh Grobin was here for a sold-out show.โAccording to Shaban, the Dr. Phillips Center has lost millions of dollars in revenue since their last show. There will be 380 metal pods spread out in the front yard of the Dr. Phillips Center. โWeโll have professional musicians from our local community come out and entertain during lunch time and then at night, weโll have bigger shows. The Front Yard festival is expected to launch sometime in December.

ORLANDO, Fla. โ Beginning next month, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts said itโs ready to reopen its doors to major events, preparing to host Orlando Ballet for its performance of Sleeping Beauty. โWe are still here,โ said Cheryl Collins, executive director of Orlando Ballet. โWe donโt know of anybody else thatโs trying to do this in the ballet world in this juncture.โThe Orlando Ballet had a devastating end to its season last spring, having to cancel two major performances due to COVID-19. However, after getting some advice with medical experts who sit on their board of directors, Orlando Ballet opened its doors to its new Harriet Orlando Ballet Centre.
