TikTok users are creating a musical based on the movie โRatatouilleโ -- and itโs incredibly cool
What started as a cheesy TikTok devoted to Remy, the main character from Disney and Pixarโs 2007 animated film โRatatouille,โ has turned into a cult phenomenon. The TikTok video, apparently induced by pandemic boredom, has accumulated more than 230,000 likes and has everyone singing about the tiny rat who just wanted to cook. โThe movie was in my head while I was cleaning up, and I just started singing this little song to myself about the main character, Remy,โ Jacobson said. He even gave stage notes for what a โRatatouilleโ musical could look like. In the words of food critic Anton Ego, โNot everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.โWhat are your thoughts on a โRatatouilleโ musical?
Pixar's 'Soul' bypasses theaters, will stream on Christmas
NEW YORK โ The Pixar film โSoulโ will skip theaters and instead premiere on Disney+ on Christmas, the Walt Disney Co. announced Thursday, sending one of the fall's last big movies straight to streaming. The successive delays of the film industry's would-be blockbusters has only made the dire circumstances of movie theaters more acute. Without aid, the organization said, 69% of small and mid-sized movie theater companies will close or go bankrupt. โThe stark reality is that many movie theaters will not be able to open again if they donโt receive government help,โ says Esther Baruh, director of government relations for the association. It recently announced that it would lay off 28,000 workers, most of them at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
