63-year-old Orlando man killed in crash; SR-520 closed at Beachline

Eastbound lanes of SR-520 were closed in area

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 63-year-old Orlando man was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 520 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash happened around 12:25 a.m. on State Road 520 at State Road 528. As of 8 a .m., eastbound lanes of S.R. 520 remained closed in the area.

The FHP said the man was driving a green Toyota Yaris west on S.R. 520 and turned in front of a gold Nissan Murano that was traveling east on S.R. 520. The front of the Nissan struck the right side of the Toyota, troopers said.

The Toyota driver was taken to Waterford Lakes Hospital, where he later died, the FHP said.

The SUV driver, a 46-year-old Orlando man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Orlando Health Emergency Room – Randal Park, an FHP crash report said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the crash report.

The crash remains under investigation.
