Trooper Steve On Patrol checks out trouble spots at I-4 and Colonial Drive

Redesigns have not solved traffic issues in metro Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – You may have heard me refer to downtown Orlando on the News 6 Morning News as the “traffic spaghetti bowl.”

When you look at the downtown roads from Sky 6, you see a configuration of travel lanes that are going everywhere. You would expect when exiting, things would get a little bit more focused -- but maybe not.

I-4 and Colonial Drive is the pinpoint center of what I refer to as metro Orlando. Over the years, this area has gone through a few redesigns to improve traffic. But to this day, we still have issues -- and I don’t believe it is all contributed by drivers.

On Monday’s Trooper Steve On Patrol, we took a look at all the frustrating spots in that area.
