Trooper Steve said this is something limo riders often don’t even think about.

“Being in a limousine -- most of the time -- means you are celebrating something special. But even when you’re celebrating, you need to be concerned about your safety,” he said.

Florida law does not require rear passengers in a limousine to wear a seat belt or have any type of vehicle restraints.

“The safety would have to be a proactive mindset of the passengers if they wanted to be restrained,” Trooper Steve said. “This goes under the category of ‘just because it’s not a law doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be.’”
