A motorcyclist was killed and three others were injured Sunday morning in a head-on crash with a wrong-way driver near Bithlo, forcing closures on East Colonial Drive in both directions, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

BITHLO, Fla. - The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating Tuesday after a woman said a driver left a car running in her driveway with two women who had overdosed inside. "I don't know; a car just pulled into our driveway and the guy got out and left," Eaton told dispatchers on the 911 call. Orange County sheriff's deputies says this is why they want people to stay at the scene of potential overdose cases. "You can help us with the fire department to get this person help. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, there have been 131 suspected overdose deaths in the county so far in 2019.
Man, fiancee escape after explosion rocks Bithlo home
BITHLO, Fla. - A Bithlo homeowner and his fiancee safely escaped a house fire early Monday. The fire was reported around 4:15 a.m. on 4th Street, north of Colonial Drive. The homeowner said he hooked up a propane generator Sunday night as storms rolled through the region. He said the generator stopped working Monday morning and when he went to check it, an explosion occurred. SR 50 reopens in Orange County
BITHLO, Fla. – Authorities on Friday reopened State Road 50 in east Orange County after it had been closed for the third straight day because of brush fire smoke. 50 was closed in both directions between Lansing Street and State Road 520 near Bithlo. Troopers conducted patrols through the closed section of the roadway to determine visibility, and the highway was reopened around 8:15 a.m. Drivers were diverted onto State Road 520, which connects to the Beachline (S.R. Several brush fires are burning across Central Florida, and more dry weather is expected to continue in the region.
