ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County is preparing to open a site for Hurricane Ian victims to get help buying groceries. The on-site Disaster Snap location is set to open Monday at Camping World Stadium. San Francisco was the first U.S. city to declare a state of emergency to combat the monkeypox outbreak last week. As of Aug. 1, the New York City Health Department has reported 1,472 cases of monkeypox. The rapid increase in cases around the globe prompted the World Health Organization to declare a global health emergency last week. U.S. federal health officials have said the Biden administration is also considering declaring monkeypox a public health emergency in order to enhance the U.S. response to the outbreak.

MCDPH says the laboratory came back with “a presumptive positive result.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will conduct a confirmatory test. Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and exhaustion, MCDPH says per the CDC. “ADHS is working closely with local health departments throughout Arizona to identify and respond quickly to any potential cases.
