At one point the Ducks had six of seven games postponed by COVID-19, and that streak ended with an ugly loss to Washington State. But they followed with five straight wins, including one over fellow bubble-dweller Colorado, heading into an important game against No. That makes their game against Oregon on Thursday night crucial for helping out a shaky resume.

Wendelboeโs contract expired this summer and he no longer works for the state health department. The Tulsa Health Department does not publicly identify where potential virus transmissions occurred, so it's not clear how many people contracted COVID-19 at Trumpโs rally. A spokesman for the Republican governor, who also attended Trump's rally without wearing a mask, acknowledged that members of Stitt's cabinet were briefed on Wendelboe's projections ahead of the rally. Stitt was the first U.S. governor to publicly acknowledge testing positive for COVID-19, although he has said he did not contract it at the Trump rally.

Trump's intended show of political force falls short of mark
When you do testing to that extent, youre going to find more cases, Trump said. Before the rally, Trump's campaign disclosed that that six staff members who were helping set up for the event had tested positive for the coronavirus. The Tulsa event was scheduled over the protests of local health officials as COVID-19 cases spiked in many states. Trump's campaign declared that it had received over 1 million ticket requests. Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh, dismissing the potential impact, said "leftists always fool themselves into thinking theyre being clever'' and he noted that rallies are general admission, with first-come-first served.
Thousands headed to indoor Trump rally, raising virus fears
I think there's no question that indoor events are more risky than outdoor events. Lessler said large events like the rally or the protests have the potential to be super spreader events, but their potential to drive the pandemic is short-lived. Attendees will also undergo a temperature check, but there will be no required social distancing at the indoor event expected to be at capacity. Trump also plans an outdoor event, and officials are expecting about 100,000 people to converge on the city. California health officials have reported so far only a few people attending the demonstrations have tested positive for COVID-19, but contact tracing anyone they have infected is proving to be futile.

Its been more than three months since the nation last saw a Trump rally. How black history is taught in schools faces new scrutiny
The states new standards are going out to schools as a national conversation on racial injustice brings new scrutiny to how African American history is taught nationwide. There is no national curriculum or set of standards for teaching black history in America. A University of Texas professor involved in developing the curriculum, Kevin Cokley, said his college students say they are taught a sanitized version of black history in high school. King provided training last year for 300 educators around the country who are interested in teaching black history. The push for diversity in education so far has led to mostly cosmetic changes, he said, without enough emphasis on the entry points and perspective of black history.

Trump supporters started arriving from around the country as early as Monday, some camping outside the BOK Center in the 90-degree-plus heat. The eyes of the world are on Tulsa, Oklahoma, during this event and we are ready for it," he said.
Don't ask Tulsa's mayor about Trump rally plans
Bynum, the first-term mayor of Tulsa, isn't celebrating Trumps planned rally Saturday at the citys 19,000-seat downtown BOK Center arena. Trump announced the rally in Tulsa as the kick-off a tour to rev up his political base and show the nation's economy reopening after the long quarantine. Meanwhile, many leaders in the city's black community have lashed out at Trump's visit as provocative after the death of black Minneapolis resident George Floyd and mass protests around the world. And thats never going to be satisfying for the people at the ideological extremes, and they tend to be noisy, said David Holt, the mayor of Oklahoma City and a friend of Bynum's. And the head of the Oklahoma Republican Party, David McLain, insisted the rally can be safe.

OKLAHOMA CITY So many people have expressed an interest in attending President Donald Trumps rally Saturday in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that the governor said hes asked the campaign to consider a larger, outdoor venue to accommodate them. Some Trump supporters have already started waiting in line outside the 19,000-seat BOK Center in downtown Tulsa. Trump moved Tulsa rally date after learning about Juneteenth
Trump had scheduled the rally for June 19, known as Juneteenth because it marks the end of slavery in the United States. Tim Scott, R-S.C., said he was thankful that Trump rescheduled the rally. But Trump's campaign was aware, according to two campaign officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose internal discussions. Although selecting June 19 was not meant to be incendiary, some pushback was expected, the Trump campaign officials said.
Black Tulsans call Trump rally plan 'a slap in the face'
Tulsans marked the 99th anniversary of what was one of modern America's bloodiest rampages targeting black communities a week ago. To choose the date, to come to Tulsa, is totally disrespectful and a slap in the face to even happen, Gamble Smith said. Long dismissed by generations of white Tulsans as a race riot," the May 31-June 1 events were marked this year by community memorials. Some black Tulsans said they planned to turn out for public protests of Trump on that day. There's definitely going to be demonstrating, Gamble Smith said.
Trump picks Tulsa for return of signature campaign rallies
WASHINGTON President Donald Trump is planning to hold his first rally of the coronavirus era on June 19 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
