‘Die Hard 2,’ ‘Roots’ actor John Amos to be honored at Orlando Film Festival
ORLANDO, Fla. — Veteran actor John Amos, known for his roles in “Roots,” “Die Hard 2″ and “Coming 2 America,” will be honored this week at the 16th Annual Orlando Film Festival. Amos will be presented with the Cinematic Icon Award for his career spanning 50 years, including his latest film “Because of Charley,” which was shot in Central Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Because of Charley” will screen on Sunday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. Amos will attend the Tuesday screening and participate in an audience Q&A after the screening. For $15 per ticket per day at Disney World, guests can utilize the Disney Genie+ service. “While the FASTPASS, FastPass+ and Disney MaxPass services will be retired, we’re incredibly excited about the flexibility and choices Disney Genie service provides,” Disney said.
