Police investigate antisemitic graffiti found at Dr. Phillips High School
ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating after antisemitic graffiti was found at an Orange County school. State Rep. Jennifer Rita Harris said officials found the graffiti in a bathroom at Dr. Phillips High School earlier this week. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Public Schools has a plan for students to make up classroom time they missed during Hurricane Ian. OCPS board members decided Tuesday night to cancel an upcoming student holiday and to turn several early dismissal days into full school days. ORLANDO, Fla. — Dr. Phillips High School students gathered Friday morning to honor the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Air Force Junior ROTC cadets observed their annual 9/11 memorial tribute at around 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Orlando school. Undersheriff Mark Canty with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was the keynote speaker at the event. Since Jan. 1, there have been eight reported cases connected to the campus, all but one are school staff. An email obtained by News 6 shows Knight asked school staff not to take Friday off because of the staffing shortage. “We have been stretched to the limits with teachers, staff, and administration out this week… I want to THANK everyone who has assisted! Our entire administration team is quarantined and working from home, so we don’t have any leadership on campus,” part of a Dr. Phillips High School staff email to OCCTA read. Since August, there have 50 reported cases tied to the school, according to the dashboard.
