McDonald’s giving frontline workers free ‘Thank You Meals’ for 2 weeks
To show its thanks to frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic, McDonald’s is offering health care workers and first responders free “Thank You Meals” from April 22 to May 5. Each meal, whether you choose breakfast, lunch or dinner, is free through the drive-thru or carryout at participating McDonald’s. The meal choice for breakfast includes an Egg McMuffin, Chicken McGriddles or a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit. “We are proud to be able support our neighbors who are on the frontlines as first responders and healthcare workers with Thank You Meals.”A valid ID will be required to claim the free meal. To adhere to social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic, Costco has recently taken steps to control the number of members in its warehouses at one time as it experiences surges in shopping. The company announced Wednesday, it is giving health care workers and first responders priority access to shop, allowing them to skip to the front of the line, according to its website. “Costco is temporarily allowing priority access to our warehouses for Costco members who are healthcare workers and first responders such as police officers, EMTs and firefighters,” company officials said on its website. To gain access to the front of the line, those specific workers only need to show their Costco membership card along with an ID to indicate their role and they can move to the front of the line. Coronavirus: Hilton, American Express offer 1 million rooms to health care workers
Hilton and American Express are teaming up to offer up to 1 million hotel room nights for free to front-line health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic. The rooms would give the workers a place to sleep, recharge or isolate to protect their families so money won’t come out of their own pockets. Hilton is working with 10 U.S. medical associations to provide rooms to doctors, nurses, EMT's, paramedics and other medical professionals. American Express is helping cover the cost of the hotel room donations.
