MARION COUNTY, Fla. โ Casey Thorner operated a prosperous home cleaning service in Marion County until COVID-19 created a wave of cancellations and forced her to file for unemployment benefits with the Department of Economic Opportunity. โIt was like my whole world shut down,โ Thorner told News 6 from her Ocala home. โI filled out my (unemployment) application, obviously I put this is how much I made,โ she said. News 6 presented the records to the DEOโs Tallahassee office last week in an attempt to move the account review along. "There are great people at the DEO just as frustrated as we are, Thorner told News 6.
