24-year-old man struck, killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

FHP says pedestrian was not crossing on marked crosswalk or intersection

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 24-year-old pedestrian not using a crosswalk was struck and killed in a crash Saturday night on Alafaya Trail, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP said a 2018 Ford Focus was traveling north on Alafaya near Ashton Manor Way when the man was crossing the roadway. The man was not crossing at a marked crosswalk or near an intersection, according to troopers.

Troopers said the man traveled in the direct path of the car and was hit. He later died at a hospital. The FHP said the 25-year-old driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
