Jesus Armando Calle, 23, was shot and killed Jan. 3 during a party at an apartment complex on University Boulevard. AdMaurico Antonio Castro Jr. was arrested Thursday by Oviedo police on second-degree murder charges. “I’m at a party and I come back inside and my friend is on the ground shot in the (expletive) neck,” the other man said. He’s dying right now.”According to the update from the sheriff’s office, tips from the community helped them to arrest Castro.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A shed fell off a trailer and landed on a car after a pickup truck crashed into the semi-truck that was hauling it, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the pickup truck and the semi were both traveling south on State Road 417 near University Boulevard Monday at about 7:35 a.m. when the pickup truck driver went to change lanes and ended up hitting the right side of the semi. The 27-year-old Orlando man driving the pickup truck and the 40-year-old DeLand man driving the semi-truck were not injured. Troopers said the pickup truck driver received a ticket for careless driving. The shed was later moved to the shoulder, but traffic remained slow in the area.

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was shot to death late Sunday near Winter Park, deputies said. The fatal shooting was reported at 11 p.m. at the Azure Winter Park apartments near University Boulevard and Semoran Drive. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified the victim as Cody Toumala, saying his death has been ruled a homicide. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 911 caller reported the shooting and deputies found the victim suffering from a life-threatening wound. He was taken to Advent Health Winter Park, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.
