Self-driving Tesla crashes into Florida deputyโs cruiser; underage teen cited
PALM COAST, Fla. โ Two teens, ages 14 and 15, involved in a wrong-way crash with a Flagler County sheriffโs cruiser claimed the Tesla they were riding in was on autopilot when the crash occurred, officials said. The car came to a stop but then backed into the deputyโs patrol vehicle, sheriffโs officials said. When asked who was driving, they both said the Tesla was driving itself in autopilot when it backed in to the patrol car, according to sheriffโs officials. AdโThese kids are very lucky that no one was hurt and their actions didnโt have more serious consequences,โ Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said. โIt doesnโt matter if you are driving a smart car, driving without a license is still against the law.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. โ Flagler County Deputy Sheriff Sierra Held has only been a school resource deputy since last summer, but she already knows she doesnโt want to do anything else. โI was ready to leave law enforcement and ready to be done to start a new career,โ Held said. I love it so much.โHeld said her first challenge in school is teaching her students what to call her. Staly said the teaching and mentoring is important but the priority is building trust between the students and law enforcement. Flagler 15-year-old accused of โbullyingโ victim to drop charges against friends
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. โ A 15-year-old girl is accused of repeatedly harassing a 19-year-old woman following the arrest of several teens who attacked and punched the victim who has autism. Now another girl has also been arrested after deputies say the victim contacted the State Attorneyโs Office and said she wanted to drop the charges because she was being harassed by her accused attackersโ friends and relatives. Detectives determined the main person contacting the victim was a 15-year-old girl who โberatedโ the victim over Facebook Messenger for five days and told her she was ruining the suspectsโ lives, according to the sheriffโs office. One of the teen girls is also accused of possession of fentanyl, marijuana and methamphetamine and obstruction of justice upon her arrest. The boy faces charges of robbery with a weapon and tampering with a victim preventing communication to law enforcement.

The business was closed while an explosive detection K-9 unit conducted a sweep of the building, according to the sheriffโs office. AdSoon after the incident at the park, deputies said a driver near Royal Palms Drive and Belle Terre Parkway reported their windshield was shattered by shots from a BB gun. The caller said no one was injured but they were โscared to death.โThen again, deputies responded to the Palm Coast Walmart after a 911 caller reported their Honda Odyessy window had been broken by BB gun pellets. The F-150 truck was spotted on surveillance video, deputies identified the owner, who was the 16-year-old suspectโs mother.
Flagler deputies wonโt face charges for shooting wanted fugitive they say pointed gun at them
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. โ Three Flagler County deputies who shot a wanted fugitive last year after he reportedly pointed a gun at them during a traffic stop will not face charges in the case, according to the State Attorneyโs Office. State Attorney R.J. Larizza sent a letter to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly this week notifying them of the decision. Deputies yelled, โGun, gun, gun,โ then Capela, Lichty and Gaddie opened fire, records show. He was released on July 6, 2020, and booked into the Flagler County Jail. โThis suspect is a convicted felon that shouldnโt have even had a gun to begin with,โ Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said.
Matanzas High School student arrested for recording threatening song, deputies say
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. โ A high school student who recorded a song threatening a campus administrator claimed the lyrics were just a โfantasy,โ according to the Flagler County Sheriffโs Office. Deputies said the song was circulating on Tuesday inside Matanzas High School when a school resource officer was made aware that the song was making threatening statements toward an administrator at the school. โIn the song, Washington threatens physical harm to the school faculty member and also states that he was suspended from school for a dress code violation and using vulgar language towards the school administrator,โ authorities said. Washington can be heard saying that he will โgladly do it again.โFCSO deputies made contact with Washington and he admitted that he wrote and recorded the song. If you make threatening statements online, in writing and or even if veiled in songs, you will be arrested.โWashington was arrested after speaking with deputies about the song.
