One Daytona to host inaugural art festival, Brushes, Bites & Blues
One Daytona is ready to host its inaugural art festival, a welcoming sight to those who are bored of their daily routines and ready to return to some sort of normality amid the coronavirus. “We believe Brushes, Bites & Blues will offer an exciting cultural experience for area residents and visitors.”The festival is free and will feature about 90 fine artists and fine craft artisans. The festival stage in Victory Circle will feature a DJ and live blues entertainment both days from Tanner Keegan and the Buddy Blues Band, Docs of Dixie. “We are excited for the opportunity to partner with One Daytona on the inaugural Brushes, Bites & Blues event,” said Steve Farmer, executive vice president of Brown & Brown. The festival offers Floridians a chance to get outside, enjoy some art and music while also being safe and staying healthy.

The race will consist of three classes: Daytona Prototype International GT Le Mans and GT Daytona. “We’re going back to our roots, taking a grand step back in time,” said Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile. “Some of IMSA’ s WeatherTech Sports Car Championship most historic moments happened here, and there have been many memorable names that have conquered Daytona. Baby delivered at gas station reunites with first responders
DAYTONA, Fla. – On Friday, the Wonder family reunited with the dispatcher and first responders who helped deliver the couple's baby boy Luca, who was born at a DeBary gas station just five days ago. "I was like, oh my goodness, this baby is coming. Wonder listened on the phone as dispatcher, Alexandra Norris, coached him through the process of delivering the baby. Norris said she's been a dispatcher for six months at the Volusia County Communications Center and said helping to deliver a baby was definitely a first. The Wonder family awarded Norris with a pink stork pin for helping deliver Lucas Jonas Wonder and all three children received gifts as well.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Beach Police Department is sharing travel plan information as race fans will be in the area for the 62nd annual Daytona 500. Police said over 100,000 race fans will be in and around Daytona International Speedway on Sunday for the final event of 2020 Speedweeks. 92I-4: Use the Beville Road/State Road 400 exit to reach Clyde Morris Boulevard, then head north to access Richard Petty Boulevard. Dunn Avenue: Will be restricted to local traffic only between Clyde Morris Boulevard and Williamson Boulevard. Williamson Boulevard: Southbound traffic will be restricted at International Speedway Boulevard, police said.

The 2020 racing season gets in gear this weekend at Daytona, with ARCA race on the Busch Clash first up. For 50 minutes beginning at 11:35 a.m., the 18 entries for Sundays Busch Clash will shake off the winter doldrums and hopefully get properly tuned for the 75-lap exhibition. On the official schedule, todays shakedown is billed as the "Final Busch Clash Practice," which is technically correct since its also the only Busch Clash practice. Many of those teams will be searching for additional horsepower ahead of this Sundays Daytona 500 pole qualifying. Daytona Burger King stabbing suspect arrested, police say
A Daytona man who ran and eluded police after stabbing a woman at a Burger King last month has been found, authorities said. Police received an anonymous tip on Dec. 17 informing them that the stabber was Ragland.
