Now, the Orlando Health corporate sign that became a place of reflection and remembrance to honor the 49 people killed will become part of the collection of the National Pulse Memorial & Museum. Design finalists unveiled for Pulse Nightclub Museum
ORLANDO, Fla. - The onePULSE Foundation is asking the public to provide feedback on the six concept designs for the National Pulse Memorial and Museum. The organization unveiled the designs on Thursday at the Orange County Regional History Center in downtown Orlando. Each model was developed around the Pulse community's vision of honoring all 49 victims killed on June 12, 2016. The CEO of the onePulse Foundation, Barbara Poma, said the exhibit is a great way for the Central Florida community to be involved. She is the mother of 20-year-old Jason Benjamin Josaphat, who was killed at the Pulse nightclub massacre.
Land purchased for future site of Pulse Museum
ORLANDO, Fla. - A swath of land near Pulse nightclub has been purchased to use as the future site of a museum meant to honor those who died in the June 12, 2016 mass shooting. Officials with the onePULSE Foundation announced Monday that the 1.75-acre parcel at 438 West Kaley St. was purchased Friday for $3.5 million. The National Pulse Memorial & Museum will open in 2022 at the location of the massacre and surrounding properties. "I congratulate the onePULSE Foundation on this significant step toward fulfilling its mission," Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said. The foundation is also attempting to purchase a small piece of property adjacent to Pulse to be used as part of the permanent memorial.
