Florida’s theme park industry is bouncing back faster than most states’, IAPPA study says
The study, conducted by an IAPPA historian, uses data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and compares employment numbers from 2019 and 2020. IAPPA found the attractions and theme park industry experienced an employment loss five times more than the average employment loss across all other industries. Yet, the study notes, Florida’s theme park and attractions industry hasn’t fully recovered and likely won’t until 2022.
Deck the halls: Walt Disney World reimagines 2020 holiday celebration
ORLANDO, Fla – Walt Disney World released new details Tuesday about its upcoming holiday celebrations. Just like some of its popular fall events, leaders at Walt Disney World have had to adjust and change plans due to ever-changing coronavirus pandemic. Canine Companions service-dog-in-training has the most magical Disney day meeting Mickey
Winnifred, a 1-year-old yellow Labrador retriever/golden retriever mix, is training to become a Canine Companions for Independence service dog. For the past few months, Winnifred and News 6 producer Haley Coomes have been working on their greetings in preparation for meeting Disney characters. During a recent visit to Epcot, Winnifred had several special photo ops, including ones with Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. ORLANDO, Fla – Walt Disney World officials announced Tuesday new details about some of its anticipated new attractions set to open across the resort in 2020. This one of a kind attraction will be the first ride-through in Walt Disney World featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse. In 2021, guests will board the starcruiser and be transported to a galaxy far, far away. “Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along” in the France pavilion, guests will be able to participate in a twist on a tale as old as time.
