An attempted traffic stop in Volusia County leads to a crash that killed a man wanted on homicide charges, officials say.

The Daytona Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a missing woman.

In a news release Tuesday, police said the crash is being actively investigated and may lead to criminal charges pending toxicology results.

Daytona Beach police are looking for a vehicle and driver involved in the hit-and-run death of a 77-year-old man.

A man is arrested in connection with a stabbing at a DeLand motel.

Three people were arrested and two were hospitalized following a shooting between parties who were boating and jet skiing Saturday on the St. Johns River in Astor, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Cole Eben, 26, was already in prison for another heinous crime when DNA connected him to a 2013 rape reported in Daytona Beach Shores.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said a father shot his daughter’s boyfriend Friday night during a violent attack. Officials said the girl’s parents heard their daughter screaming outside and saw her boyfriend, Vincent Moore, 26, attacking her. “The parents said they tried to break up the fight to no avail,” deputies said. “The father told detectives he fired one warning shot into the ground while the mother tried to get Moore to leave.”Moore then started attacking the mother instead. Concerned for their safety, the father told detectives he shot Moore one time.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 35-year-old woman was fatally struck while walking across U.S. 1 Tuesday night, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. She was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center, where she died shortly after her arrival.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 46-year-old inmate was found unresponsive in the Volusia County jail and was later pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said Michael Maydell was found around 11 a.m. Monday and taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he was pronounced dead. Records show his death was believed to be a suicide and no foul play is suspected. A death investigation is ongoing.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Hours after a man was shot and injured by Daytona Beach police Thursday night, the department released body camera video of the encounter showing he continued to move forward at officers as they told him to get on the ground. According to the body camera video, Mansilla was shot in the neck area behind his left ear. Mansilla’s fiance Hunter Harrison told News 6 he was the other person in the parking lot when the shooting happened. Daytona Beach police previously arrested Mansilla in November at the Daytona International Speedway. When confronted by security, Mansilla pulled out two large knives and began running at the security officers, according to the report.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 73-year-old woman was hit and killed Monday afternoon while crossing a street in Daytona Beach, police said. According to Daytona Beach police, witnesses said the woman was crossing the road from east to west when she was knocked to the ground by a silver 2016 Dodge Ram that was making a right turn from eastbound Magnolia. The woman suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center, where she died, police said. Authorities said the woman appeared to be walking diagonally toward a crosswalk, which was about 25 feet away, when she was hit by the pickup. The driver, an Ormond Beach man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, officials said.

ORMOND BEACH – A 26-year-old woman died in an accidental shooting in Ormond Beach early Saturday morning, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was found at her home on Fairland Road just before 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the upper body, and later died at Halifax Health Medical Center, according to deputies. She was identified Monday as Ashleigh Murphy. The shooter was the one who called 911 and has been cooperating with authorities, records show. His or her name has not been released.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – One person was killed and another was critically injured early Tuesday in a shooting during a possible home invasion in Daytona Beach, police said.
