Police said surveillance video at West International Speedway Boulevard and Nova Road captured the crash shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday. The video also shows the driver jumping out of the moving vehicle seconds before it hit Watson, a pole and what appears to be an electrical box. News 6 is only airing an edited version of the video that stops before the fatal impact. According to the affidavit, Adum had circled the intersection prior to the crash but had to slow down because of another vehicle.

A suspect was arrested on Saturday after leading the Daytona Beach Police Department on a chase, which caused one police vehicle to flip over, police said. PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Months after his death, the family of a man killed at a Port Orange intersection is pushing to make it safer. The family of 22-year-old Ryan Friend is fighting for a safer intersection after a driver crossed four lanes of traffic and struck Friend’s motorcycle at Nova Road and Miles Drive on Sept. 25. She claims the Port Orange Police Department did not thoroughly investigate her son’s crash. “He deserved the respect and the thorough investigation from the Port Orange Police Department and I just feel like he didn’t get it,” she said. Police told the Friend family they will be standing behind them this weekend.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 37-year-old man is dead after being struck by two vehicles in Daytona Beach, police said. Officers said the man, whose name has not been released, was walking in the northbound lanes of Nova Road near Beville Road around 8:30 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by a northbound Chrysler Pacifica. The initial impact sent the man into the southbound lanes of Nova Road, where he was hit by a southbound Ford F-350 truck, according to police. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Daytona Beach fast-food worker was attacked and stabbed in the face Sunday at Burger King, according to police. The attack happened around 4:20 p.m. at the Burger King at 825 N. Nova Road. Daytona Beach police said the employee suffered lacerations to the face and fingers and was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment. Police said the culprit is described as a light-skinned black male wearing black pants and a black hoodie. A photo released by police shows the assailant, who was wearing a black hat and coat, in an apparent struggle with a worker.
