news.yahoo.comProsecutors: NY postal workers stole credit cards, spent $750K
New York prosecutors say more than 1,000 credit cards were stolen and used to buy more than $750,000 in high-end items. At the center, prosecutors say, was a man named Michael Richards who recruited postal workers to steal more than 1,000 unopened credit cards, WNBC reported. Investigators say the suspects used online databases to learn information about the credit cardholders so they could activate the cards and spend money at luxury retailers, WABC reported. Prosecutors say the cards were used for subscription databases like LexisNexis and Transunion, as well as stores like Hermes, Bloomingdale’s and Louis Vuitton. In a statement, prosecutors said they uncovered the fraud in February 2019 when a credit card company noticed new cards not reaching their owners.

Seven battleground states conducting sweeps do not allow ballots to be counted after Election Day: Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida, New Hampshire, Arizona, and Maine. According to new court filings, scores have steadily declined since Wednesday, when the USPS reported it moved 97% of ballots on time. To fix the issues, USPS has provided “multiple layers of operational oversight,” is coordinating closely with the USPS inspector general and has been holding daily troubleshooting calls. Some post offices have implemented “local turnaround.”That’s where ballots are being delivered directly to local boards of election instead of going through normal mail processing.

On this 50th anniversary for the USPS, mail a letter to a friend
Fifty years ago, the former Post Office Department changed over and became the United States Postal Service. Postal Service, as we know it now, has only been around since 1970? Energized by the Civil Rights Movement, postal workers in New York went on strike, and the movement eventually swelled across the country. Previously, letters were taken to a Post Office, where employees would note the postage due (or paid) in the upper right corner.
