Woman, 58, killed in Marion County hit-and-run; SUV, driver sought
A 58-year-old Belleview woman was struck and killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal crash was reported at 6:16 a.m. on SE 112th Street Road near SE 50 Avenue Road[TRENDING: 10-foot bull shark attacks snorkeler in Fla. | Seminole High School student killed in crash | Fla. strip club fights to lower dancer age to 18]The FHP said a dark gray or silver-colored Dodge Durango was traveling west on SE 112th Street Road and hit the woman while she was crossing the road. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said. The SUV, which likely has damage to its front end or hood, did not stop and drove away west on SE 112th, troopers said. Marion County deputies concerned for missing woman’s safety after unknown person answers her phone
MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies are searching for a missing and endangered Belleview woman who was last seen earlier in the week, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Sandra Gordon, 35, left her home in the late evening hours Sunday or the early morning hours Monday, and has not been heard from since. Officials said Gordon is driving a 2010 dark blue Chevrolet Traverse with a possible Tennessee tag, CCW041. Gordon is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 126 pounds, with hazel eyes and red hair. Anyone who sees Gordon or may know where she may be is urged to immediately call 911.

Marion fire rescue sends out safety reminder after mobile home fire
MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Marion County Fire Rescue said crews were dispatched to a mobile home fire on the 4800 block of 100th Street in Belleview around 12:12 a.m. on Wednesday. The origin of the fire was centered on the chimney area, according to the fire rescue. Rescue 518 arrived on scene at 12:17am to find the double-wide mobile home with smoke coming from the eves. Additional firefighters from Belleview Station #18, Spruce Creek Station #30 and Shady Station #16 arrived shortly after.
