Park outside: Kia recalls nearly 380,000 vehicles for fire risk
DETROIT โ Kia is telling owners of nearly 380,000 vehicles in the U.S. to park them outdoors due to the risk of an engine compartment fire. AdThe recall comes after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began investigating Kia and Hyundai engine fires in 2019. Kia was to pay $27 million and invest $16 million in safety performance measures. Another $27 million payment will be deferred as long as Kia meets safety conditions, NHTSA said. AdEngine failure and fire problems with Hyundais and Kias have affected more than 6 million vehicles since 2015, according to NHTSA documents.

Man fatally shot during large fight in Daytona Beach, police say
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. โ A man was fatally shot during a large fight Saturday morning and now authorities are asking any additional witnesses to step forward, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department. Records show the fight and shooting happened in 800 block of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard around 11:30 a.m., killing Chad Givens. Jalen Foster and Corey Favors (Volusia County Jail)The driver, 27-year-old Corey Favors, 22-year-old Foster and another passenger were detained. Police said they believe Foster, Favors and the third passenger in the Kia were at the fight where Givens was fatally shot. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information about the shooting that killed Givens.

Teen dies in Ormond Beach motorcycle accident
A 13-year-old boy who was a passenger on a motorcycle was killed in an Ormond Beach crash on Saturday, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department. Police said the motorcycle and 2002 white Kia crashed into each other in the 600 block of North Nova Road after the Kia attempted to make a left turn into an apartment complex, police said. The driver of the motorcycle was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

Officers in Daytona Beach investigate motorcycle crash that left one man dead
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. โ Daytona Beach Police Officers are investigating a crash that left a 48-year-old man dead Friday. According to officials, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near South Clyde Morris Boulevard & New Bellevue Avenue. Officials believe the motorcyclist was attempting to turn north on Clyde Morris from New Bellevue. The man, who was identified as a South Daytona resident, was pronounced dead by first responders shortly after they arrived on the scene. โThe T-Bone collision knocked the rider of the Suzuki off the motorcycle and the vehicle came to its final rest in the middle of Clyde Morris facing northeast," officers said.

15-year-old girl survives triple fatal rollover crash on I-95 near Titusville
The triple fatal wreck happened around 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 just north of State Road 407 near Titusville. The FHP said a 2004 Ford Expedition carrying four people was going north on I-95 when a Kia SUV entered the highway from State Road 407. The driver, a 40-year-old Vero Beach man, and two passengers, a 28-year-old Sebastian man and a 44-year-old Orlando woman, died in the crash, the FHP said. FORT PIERCE, Fla. โ The man accused of fatally shooting a manager at Under Armour has likely been found dead inside his vehicle in Fort Pierce, according to the Orlando Police Department.
