Titusville police arrest man after armed robbery at Quality Inn Hotel
TITUSVILLE, Fla. โ A repeat offender is back behind bars after authorities say they connected him to an armed robbery at a hotel. According to the Titusville Police Department, Steven Levon Fields, 28, encountered a woman at the Quality Inn Hotel and demanded money at gunpoint. Hours later, officers approached Fields as he was exiting the hotel room and took him into custody. โA search of the suspect revealed he was in possession of narcotics, a firearm and the alleged stolen money,โ officers said. Fields was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and theft.
Man and woman arrested after robbing Family Dollar in Sumter County
A man and a woman were arrested Sunday after they robbed a Family Dollar in Sumter County, according to the Sumter County Sheriffs Office. According to authorities, a man entered the Family Dollar in Lake Panasoffkee and demanded money from the store. The man left the store with an undisclosed amount of money, and took off with a woman who was driving a car, according to reports. Authorities said an eyewitness followed the couple as they fled the scene of the crime, and the eyewitness called law enforcement. Both of the suspects were caught by law enforcement.
Teens lead authorities on chase through Volusia County after attempted burglary, police say
According to a news release, Orange City Police Sergeant Jason Ward observed three subjects attempting to break into the store. Once the subjects noticed law enforcement vehicles, they got into a Black Nissan Altima and fled the scene driving southbound on North Volusia Avenue. Orange City Police Officers with the assistance of the Volusia County Sheriffโs Office successfully deployed spike strips near the intersection of Enterprise Road and South Volusia Avenue. The Volusia County Sheriffโs Office set up a perimeter and deployed a police K-9, a news release said. โThe investigation also revealed the Nissan Altima was reported stolen out of Orange County on May 18,โ officials said.
Orlando coffee shop robbed, trashed while county was under coronavirus curfew
ORLANDO, Fla. โ Gratitude Coffee, in College Park, fell victim to a robbery overnight, according to the storeโs owner. Jen Hackney spoke with News 6 Saturday morning and said Orlando Police officers were investigating the break-in. According to a police report, the robbery occurred while Orange County was under a curfew due to the coronavirus. The caption read:โSo this is what I found when I open my back door this morning to come and open the shop. It looks like I was robbed overnight and they really made a mess of my shop so I will not be opening today.โ
Woman accused of robbing Ormond Beach Publix arrested
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. โ A woman who deputies said robbed an Ormond Beach-area Publix Friday morning was arrested, according to officials. Deputies say Kangas and another woman were behind on their rent. โThe landlord said one of the tenants was โKayla,โ and he asked the deputy to go speak to her. While the deputy was talking to the landlord, dispatch radioed the robbery call at Publix and the deputy rushed to the supermarket, officials said. Employees at Publix told deputies a female in her 20s approached the counter, passed a note demanding money then took the cash and left.
