Tony grew up in a very poor family in Western Massachusetts. His family struggled often with drug addiction. Seeing the struggles his mother, father and brother were going through at 16, Tony decided he didn’t want to end up like them.

Michael graduated high school confused and not sure of which direction he wanted to go. After a year of weighing options he decided to go into the U.S. Air Force as an in-flight refueler on planes.

Brenda joined the U.S. Air Force in 1992 and served 9 years. Service had always been in her family and Betsy found her passion while in Air Force ROTC all throughout High School and College.

The Army was not the first choice of Corporal Owens, his plans to join the Navy were sidetracked because he was too young. After meeting with an Army recruiter his military career was able to take shape.
