The season’s first big cold front delivered the coolest morning Central Florida has felt in months.

A cold front has brought cooler, drier air and breezy conditions to Central Florida, while coastal flooding advisories remain in effect and tropical activity is being monitored.

Thursday and Friday were plagued by heavy rains and flood conditions especially for our east coast counties. Today, the skies may not have cleared yet, but the Fall air mass is making its way through the peninsula. How long will these conditions stick around?

Things are finally going to change, at least for the time being as we battle through one more day of these showers and storms bellowing in from the east coast and ripping westward toward the Gulf coast.

Relief from the heat may finally be on the horizon, with a cold front expected to bring cooler, more comfortable temperatures by the weekend.

Tonight and into tomorrow we'll see some of our highest amounts of rainfall possible during this set up. We finally start to see a reprieve about mid week, before the pattern starts to switch up on us bringing down our first small dose of fall just in time for next weekend.

It's fall, but the weather in Central Florida still feels very much like summer.

We've been enjoying a lovely weekend across the state of Florida all thanks to an upper low hung up over the northern portions of the state dumping drier air into our neighborhood. With all things weather, however, things will inevitably change. That change is coming as we get towards the Wednesday time frame of this new week ahead.
