Video shows suspected drunken driver crashing into Florida deputyโs cruiser
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. โ A driver is facing charges after crashing into an Indian River County Sheriffโs Office patrol car over the weekend. Dash camera video from the deputyโs cruiser shows the crash, which happened early Sunday morning. AdDeputies say McKinny attempted to leave the scene but was quickly captured. No one was hurt. McKinny was arrested on charges of misdemeanor DUI and later posted bond and was released from jail.
Indian River County prescribed burn causes smoky conditions in Brevard County
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. โ Although no prescribed burns were scheduled for Brevard County, two large burns in Osceola and Indian River counties have been sending smoke to Central Brevard Wednesday afternoon, reports News 6 partner Florida Today. Skies over parts of Melbourne, Rockledge and Merritt Island were filled with grey smoke that obscured the sun and glowed bright orange from the 9,600-acre burn in Indian River County. Winds carried the smoke into a large portion of southern and central Brevard County. Radar images from the National Weather Service showed how south-by-southwest winds carried smoke from the prescribed burn in western Indian River County into Brevard. Ash and poor air quality were reported over large swaths of Brevard.
Brevard residents drive to Indian River County for COVID-19 vaccine

News 6 also met people Tuesday from Palm Beach County, an hour and a half away. And also like the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County, Indian River County advised people to sign up for its text-alerts to know immediately when new appointments open up. โI canโt say enough about Indian River County and the whole nine yards. In Indian River, the county Tuesday afternoon said it does not know when its next shipment is coming.
