BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old Cocoa woman who was standing in a road was struck by an SUV before being run over and killed by another SUV that fled the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. POLK COUNTY, Fla. – What started as a series of vehicle burglaries in Tampa led to a pursuit involving a teenage driver in a stolen vehicle and a crash in Polk County, according to the Tampa Police Department. At about 1:43 p.m., police said the stolen SUV crashed into a pickup truck at U.S. Highway 192, causing serious injuries to that driver. The impact of that crash also pushed the pickup truck into an SUV, which then hit another SUV, according to FHP. Police said the teenage driver was also taken to an area hospital for treatment and guns were found in the stolen vehicle. Troopers said the two other Orlando men -- ages 18 and 19 -- who were in the stolen vehicle with the driver were arrested on auto burglary charges overnight.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Melbourne man is accused of assaulting a Palm Bay police officer then leading troopers and Brevard County deputies on a pursuit from Brevard County into Orlando, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The FHP was called in on Wednesday night after Palm Bay police requested assistance reporting a suspect had assaulted one of their officers, according to the FHP report. Troopers said they followed the SUV onto Avalon park Boulevard where the vehicle continued speeding, eventually approaching State Road 408. Keith had multiple warrants for his arrest from Brevard County, according to the report. Keith was arrested around 12:40 a.m. on State Road 50, according to the report.
