BERLIN – A 7-year-old boy has died in eastern Switzerland after a homemade igloo collapsed on him and his father, police said Wednesday. The boy was pulled from the water near the 1900 block north of Ormond Beach and was found unresponsive, authorities said. The boy eventually was pronounced deceased at the hospital, authorities said. FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Weeks after authorities announced he was missing, a 13-year-old Flagler County boy has been found safe, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies first said they were looking for the boy, who was missing from Palm Coast, on Oct. 23. He was reunited with his family after being located in Pinellas County, deputies said in an update on Monday. “We are happy that he was returned home and is safe. A 13-year-old boy who was a passenger on a motorcycle was killed in an Ormond Beach crash on Saturday, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department. Police said the motorcycle and 2002 white Kia crashed into each other in the 600 block of North Nova Road after the Kia attempted to make a left turn into an apartment complex, police said. The driver of the motorcycle was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

SALT LAKE CITY A police department vowed Tuesday to cooperate with multiple investigations of the shooting of a 13-year-old autistic boy by officers in the Salt Lake City area. The Salt Lake City Police Department said the officers were called to a home in Glendale, Utah, Friday night with a report of a boy who had threatened people with a weapon. The boy reportedly ran and was shot by an officer after being pursued by police. No weapon was found Friday, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. Salt Lake Mayor Erin Mendenhall said in a statement late Sunday that the shooting was a tragedy and called for a swift and transparent investigation.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A 12-year-old Jacksonville boy was paralyzed by a bullet that struck him as he was in his bed late Saturday night, police said. Jacksonville sheriffs spokesman Christian Hancock said officials were told the boy may never walk again as a result of his injuries. The shooting also injured an adult at the home, according to the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office. Authorities said shots were fired into the home, but no further details about the shooting have been released. Police are asking for anyone who in the area to review surveillance video for anything that might help investigators determine who fired the shots.

NEW SMYNRA BEACH, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy was bitten by a shark while visiting New Smyrna Beach on Thursday, according to Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue officials. Beach rescue officials said the boy, who is from Lake Wales, was standing in waist-deep water when the shark bit his foot. Beach safety officials said the incident marked the third shark bite reported in Volusia County this year. New Smyrna Beach is unofficially known as the shark attack capital of the world, according to CNN. According to Florida Museum’s International Shark Attack File, there have been 312 confirmed unprovoked shark attacks in Volusia County since 1882.

COCOA BEACH, Fla. Video from Cocoa Beach shows the moment a Florida police officer jumped into the water to save a little boy after the officer noticed a shark swimming his direction. In the video posted on Facebook, you can hear people yelling at the boy as the shark approached. Cocoa Beach police officials said the shark was within a couple of feet of the boy. LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old Lake County Schools information technology specialist is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Under Florida law, the 16-year-old boy was legally allowed to consent to sex with 23-year-old Gutierrez but the other teen could not. The 15-year-old boy said that on Halloween, his 16-year-old best friend said he could touch Gutierrez inappropriately and that escalated into more sexual activity, according to the affidavit. Deputies said that on Dec. 18, 2019, Gutierrez contacted the victim and told him to sneak out of his house so the two could have sex in his truck. He was arrested on charges of lewd of lascivious battery and tampering with a victim.
