Investigators said Alex Robinson, 44, of Titusville, was found shot near a house off Main Street Thursday morning. Deputies have not said what the motive for the shooting may have been, but did say they believe Robinson was targeted and the shooting was an isolated incident. The fatal shooting was reported near Harry T Moore Avenue and Main Street around 10 a.m. Thursday. Sheriff’s officials said agents were interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The precautionary boil water notice stems from a water main break that occurred near 2564 Myrtle Avenue in the Mims water service area. The repair has been completed and water service should be restored to all residents. As a precaution, it is advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled.
Pedestrian struck and killed on US 1 in Brevard County
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 25-year-old woman from Mims was fatally hit by a pickup truck on U.S. 1 Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck was driving north on U.S. 1 in the left lane and the left front of the pickup hit the man, according to the report. The victim was taken to Parrish Hospital where he died, troopers said. The crash remains under investigation.
1 dead, 1 in serious condition after ATV crashes, ejects passenger, troopers say
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. One person has died and another is in serious condition after an ATV crash near Mims, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers responded to an area near the intersection on Morgan Alderman Road and State Road 46 Thursday around 11:00 p.m. for reports of an ATV crash. Investigators found a Polaris Ranger ATV carrying two passengers had left the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed into a pole, a report showed. A 26-year-old female was ejected from the ATV as a result of the crash and was taken to a hospital where she later died. The driver of the ATV, a 57-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, troopers said.
